The CTES College of Architecture in Chembur, Mumbai was established in July 2014 by the Chembur Trombay Education Society. Setting up a College for Professional Studies in the field of Architecture has been an important step taken up by CTES, which was formed in 1978, and has been running a College of Arts, Science and Commerce as well as several other disciplines.

The CTESCOA was approved by the Council of Architecture, the Apex National statutory body that governs Architectural Education, on 28th July 2014, after much effort, for an intake of 40 students. The GR from the Government of Maharashtra was obtained on 3rd September 2014. The first Merit list of 32 open and reserved candidates for admission was prepared.  Ganesh Puja was organised on Teachers’ Day, 5th September 2014, to herald the opening of the CTESCOA. The new college was affiliated to the University of Mumbai on 10th September 2014. An Informal Preparatory Design Workshop was conducted for the merit list students from 6th to 11th September 2014. After the admission process was completed, regular Classes of the First year of the 5 year B. Arch Course commenced on 15th September 2014. The students who sought and got admission to the First Year Architecture on merit are from far off western suburbs of Vasai, Borivali and Kandivali, South Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. It clearly showed that distance did not deter those who desired to study Architecture.
